Nissan Channels Consumer Engagement Via Social Media

Plunging into 2012, most individuals have at least some experience using one of the many available social media platforms...if not all. But no matter whether you prefer Facebook or Twitter or Google+, Surf City Nissan knows there's one thing no social media user enjoys: being sold to. Sites like the aforementioned three were built as means to increase communication and relationship building, not to give companies another venue through which to push their products. Unfortunately, it seems as though a lot of businesses aren't getting that memo. Thankfully, Nissan is not one of them.

Ever dropped your cell phone? Who are we kidding, everyone drops their phone at one point another...some do so more often than not. But whether you're clumsy by nature or simply can't walk and talk at the same time, no one like cracking their screen. Debuting at the Nissan Taxi of Tomorrow Design Expo, the next best thing for city cabs comes in the form of the Nissan NV200

New Nissan Powertrain Combines Superchargers and Hybrids

When the forthcoming Nissan LEAF arrives at Surf City Nissan in Huntington Beach, CA, we expect the power will come from a brand-new supercharged engine combined with a hybrid system. At this point, Nissan has already done well in the EV realm with the LEAF, which is the world's premier mass produced electric car. The development of a new hybrid drivetrain, however, will place the automaker at the forefront of hybrid technology, an area in which Nissan previously had little presence.

Have a problem remembering car keys? Nissan may soon render that problem irrelevant with BMI, a "Brain Machine Interface" technology that, among other things, could allow users to unlock vehicles with their mind. Nissan is collaborating with École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland in order to conduct pioneering research on this technology with the goal of someday adapting it to vehicles such as the Nissan Altima.

Nissan isn't new to award winning. In fact, the Nissan LEAF received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety 2011 Safety Pick designation not long ago. But the most recent title claimed by the automaker is definitely a new one.
